The French Connection with Young Dissenters
Saturday 18th April St Matthias Church N16, 5.30pm
We make our debut at St Matthias Church (right), a hidden Grade I listed gem of a building with a magnificent acoustic. Our Gallic themed programme will include Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, which is neither small nor solemn.
This is a most significant event for us: as well as our first concert in our new home, we will be presenting the debut performance of Stoke Newington’s first ever youth choir Young Dissenters singing a piece written and conducted by the eminent composer Harvey Brough.
As usual our concert will be delightfully short, and will be followed by a delicious supper home-cooked by the congregation, and drinks, with all proceeds going to the church roof repairs. Music, food, wine, community and sociability on a sunny spring evening in Stokey. What could be better? Do join us.
